Huntington Township is located in the southern most section of Lorain County and is totally residential/agricultural. Population was estimated at 1341 on the 2010 Census. The Township has 19.985 miles of Township road to maintain for residents and employs one full time and four part time employees.

Trustees voted at the 2/16/15 meeting to declare the last Sunday in July as "Huntington Community Days". Ideas for events are encouraged, call any Trustee and share your thoughts or contact any Historical Society Member.
The Huntington Community Park recently was awarded a grant through the Lorain County Health District to promote healthy living by putting in water fountains, shade over benches, assist with new playground equipment and set up doggy do stations. Lorain County Solid Waste Management also awarded a grant to the Township for half the cost of playground equipment. Stop by on the FIRST COMMUNITY DAY JULY 26th and enjoy the improved walking trails and let the children play on the playground! The Park is a gem in the middle of the Township! The Trustees would like to invite residents to attend all public meetings. The Trustees meet the first and third Monday of every month in the Township Hall (School building) on the corner of SR 58 & SR 162 at 7:00 PM. Any changes to this regular schedule will be posted. In addition to these Trustee meetings there are monthly meetings of the Fire District Board, Ambulance District Board, Rural Lorain County Water Board, LORCO Board and Office on Aging that are open to the public. The Trustee's awarded the 2015 Chip and Seal work to Sarver Paving on 5/18/2015. Portions of Clark and Baker Road will be chip and sealed. Look for the Ohio Department of Transportation to start the bridge replacement on SR 162. Click Here to read the ODOT letter about Huntington Township's Proj 140 (15) a bridge replace half mile west of SR 58 on SR 162.
The Township received a grant/loan mix for reconstruction of Clark Road from Bursley South to the bridge July 1, 2014. Road grinding work is complete on Clark Road south of Bursley, Henry Bergman Construction is expected to "motor pave" the road this summer. Call any Trustee when you spot an area of road that is a concern.
